We Need To Talk About Kevin [2011, Lynne Ramsay]
I feel like this is the best all around movie I have seen in a while, and apparently the book is a lot better. The writing, directing, cinematography, editing, and acting all came into a perfect harmony in this film. I don’t think they could have casted this film any better either. I didn’t know much about this before I watched it, just listened to people talk a little bit about it on a couple podcasts. There were a lot of original editing techniques used in this film that worked very well for the content. Make sure you’re in a pretty mellow mood for this one, definitely not the best option for Valentine’s day tomorrow. It seems this female director likes dark subject matter since most of the films she has directed have been about morbid things. Regardless, it was very well done… Hence the tumblr post.

Finally got a chance to check it out. I don’t know how to put this without being crude…so I’m just gonna say it….holy shit cinematography boner. So many amazingly composed shots.
