I just finished reading Christian and Hunter’s draft script. In reality I could have finished it all in one day because it was simply just that good, but then what would I have done this morning? I knew where all the characters came from, and the references from real life drew me in deeply to the story. As it stands, the script would make an excellent piece of fiction, but perhaps since I know them both well, or because they are actually very good writers I could see how they would shoot this film in my head. It looked amazing. It is peppered with references to pop culture of the 90s which I sincerely hope I won’t be the only one to pick up on, although I suspect I might be. My name is also used, which brought a smile to my face.

Long story short, it had my laughing like an idiot in my cube while the rest of the office was quiet. My only questions is which character was I…? I mean you’re best friend should obviously fit into some archetypal role here. Was it the guy with the cake… damn I knew it.

Aw shucks.

Christian its here! Well actually it came yesterday but I got around to reading your Gleaming the Cube write up and I have to say, the skater in all of us “shred” a tear. I especially like the opening definitions, clever touch. I am looking forward to the Hackers piece, although some of it may be lost on me considering I haven’t seen it all the way through. I know, I know strap an old trinitron to my feet and throw me off a bridge.
Well done.

Thanks buddy! Mine hasn’t come yet but I’ll check out how it looks soon enough.
I might have to bring Hackers on Thursday for you.
If anyone would like to buy a copy of the “I Love Bad Movies” Zine, I wrote two essays for their latest issue, you can get one here.
